I’m going to keep it real with you all: I’m incredibly excited and 100% confident in my decision, but man, this week has been a whirlwind.
When I said YES to this next chapter, the first thing I had to tackle was the logistics. How was I going to make this happen? When was I going to make it happen? Thankfully, I’m surrounded by the best team and mentors. One of my first calls was to Jon Cheplak, and true to form, he said he’d help no matter what brokerage I was at. Together with Leo, they rallied the troops to craft a solid game plan.
We all flew into Dallas the Friday before Christmas and huddled in a boardroom at an airport hotel. While brainstorming strategy, they mentioned that the perfect opportunity to make the announcement would be right before Inman—at NASDAQ. The timing was tight, though, and it meant going all-in immediately. I had already been on the fence about losing those crucial two weeks between Christmas and New Year’s, and I didn’t want any rumors circulating prematurely. So, I didn’t tell anyone—not even my operations team—until just a week ago.
I alerted my Spring B team to start prepping the backend for the launch, and it’s been full speed ahead ever since.
The Crazy Week Leading Up to NASDAQ
Let me tell you—trying to make the NASDAQ timing work was no small feat. That same week, I was hosting a behind-the-scenes event where 60 team owners shadowed my business for three days. On top of that, I had our all day EOS planning session, which required all hands on deck. In just a matter of days, I had to:
- Transition and inform my team.
- Film the announcements.
- Onboard to eXp.
- Have the difficult conversations with my REAL fam.
- Manage some personal challenges that I’ve never navigated before.
It was a lot. But we did it. I did it.
The Big Day
Right now, I’m writing this on a plane to NYC. I grabbed an early flight because the risk of weather delays was just too high. For the first time in days, I can finally take a breath. Earlier today, I posted a teaser reel, and the rumors are flying. But here’s what I know:
- My friends are cheering me on—even those at Real—because I’m cheering them on, too.
- My new friends at eXp are rallying behind me and want to see me win.
- I will win because I am fully committed to this process.
This journey is about more than just a career move. It’s about embracing change, leading with courage, and believing in the power of reinvention. And as overwhelming as this week has been, I wouldn’t change a thing. The future is bright, and I’m ready to lean all the way in.
